Introduction

Livestock Production and Technology Research Foundation (LPTRF) is a nonprofit, voluntary organization for Animal Welfare, Social Service and Rural Development in India. It is a Section 8 Company registered under Companies Act 2013 based in PONDICHERRY District, PUDUCHERRY State in Southern India. Livestock Production and Technology Research Foundation has program areas on dairy farming, poultry farming (layer & broiler), sheep & goat farming, rabbit farming, livestock related products, fodder cultivation, feed manufacturing, mushroom cultivation, vermicomposting, and other agriculture development program.

Entrepreneurship Development

Entrepreneurship is the backbone of economic development. Entrepreneurship development program is an effective way to develop entrepreneurs who can help accelerate the pace of socio-economic development, balanced regional growth, optimum use of local resources and create gainful self-employment. Arthur Cole has also accepted the social utility of entrepreneurship development programs stating the social and economic activities are strengthened. Entrepreneurship development program enhances the motivation, knowledge, operational skills of potential entrepreneurs and assists them to develop their own ventures and run them successfully.

Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) refers to the identification of potential entrepreneurs, promote entrepreneurship through education, training, applied research and institution building. To strive to become a globally competitive and leading resource institute in entrepreneurship education and development, applied research, policy advocacy and institution building, with an inbuilt drive to remain accountable to core values, systems and principles.

Since the country is endowed with vast agricultural resources, the Livestock Production and Technology Research Foundation intend to create ‘Agri-preneurs’ by developing knowledge on latest technologies as also that on management techniques, among farmers. Designed a training model for rural poor to resolve the twin problems of poverty and unemployment emerged from action-research projects. To promote sustainable livelihood activities and income generation among youth (16-35 years) Livestock Production and Technology Research Foundation will focus on building livelihood awareness, vocational skills development, Government aid assistance and all-round support.

For Women’s Entrepreneurship Development program the Livestock Production and Technology Research Foundation will work to empower budding and existing women entrepreneurs who want to start, run and grow their business and to create conducive conditions for inclusive, resilient and sustainable economies. It does so by addressing gender imbalances in enterprise development in order to scale women entrepreneurs’ contributions to growth and sustainable development and to enable their meaningful participation in entrepreneurship ecosystems.

Livestock Production and Technology Research Foundation uses a human-centered, systemic, integrated approach based, sustainable strategies and built around a set of tested tools to implement targeted actions to empower women entrepreneurs, helping them to secure a decent job for themselves and for others and to overcome barriers to developing productive and sustainable businesses.
